Used as a lubricant on set-up polishing wheels to prevent the wheel from loading and packing.
By keeping the wheel well greased, over-heating and consequent discoloration of the work is eliminated.
In addition to greatly increasing the life of the polishing wheel over the use of dry set-up wheels, a brighter, smoother finish is obtained.
This grease stick is also extensively used as a coolant and lubricant on band-saws to prevent the saw from overheating and crystallizing when cutting off gates and risers from non-ferrous metals.
